These Terms apply to the Daily Dose of Happiness app (the “App”) and its web version, public share pages, the website and the Creator Dashboard at creator.daily-dose-of-happiness.de. For purchases, the terms of the App Store or Google Play shown at checkout also apply.
There are two roles. Users use the App. Creators register separately and publish content through the Creator Dashboard; section 8 applies to them in addition.
How we handle personal information is described in our App Privacy Policy (for visits to the website, see the website privacy policy) and, for Washington, Nevada and Connecticut, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
You must be 18 or older to use the App. We ask you to confirm your age when you first open the App. If you are under 18, you may not use the App.
If we learn that a user is under 18, we will close the account and delete its data. Creators must also be 18 or older and have full legal capacity.
The App offers digital content and features for everyday wellbeing and self-reflection, including daily impulses, emotion check-ins, gratitude and reflection features, reminders, letters to your future self, Hidden Happiness, shareable happiness packages, community features and creator content.
Some features are free. Others are part of Early Access Premium or free creator category subscriptions. The App shows what is included.
We do not promise any particular result, such as a better mood, health or mental state.
Daily Dose of Happiness is a general wellbeing app. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent or monitor any disease or condition, and it does not replace advice, diagnosis or treatment by a doctor, psychotherapist or other professional.
We make no promises of healing. Our impulses, exercises and reflections, like the content from creators, are general ideas for your everyday life, not individual advice. We hope they do you good, but we cannot and do not promise any particular effect on your mood or your health.
The App is not intended for people who are ill. We made it for the everyday lives of healthy adults. It is not designed to detect or treat any physical or mental illness. If you are ill, under severe strain or in treatment, you deserve support from professionals, and the App cannot provide that. Please do not pause any treatment or medication because of the App. If you are unsure, talk to your doctor or therapist before trying an exercise.
You decide how you use the App. You use all content on your own responsibility and to the extent that you can and want to. What you try, how often and how far you go is up to you. Nothing here is mandatory. If something does not feel right, skip it or stop.
The App is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number now: 911 in the USA and Canada, 999 in the UK, 112 in the EU. In a crisis, call or text 988 (USA) or 9-8-8 (Canada), or call Samaritans on 116 123 (UK). More numbers: Help now.
If a breathing or grounding exercise makes you feel dizzy, short of breath or unwell, stop the exercise.
You can use many features without an account. Features linked to an account, especially Early Access Premium, need one. You can register with an email address, with Sign in with Apple or with Google.
Keep your login details safe and do not share your account. Your registration details must be correct. You may not use an account to misuse the App, to automate access or to get around a block.
Private entries stay private. Check-ins, notes, letters and answers stay private unless a feature clearly says it shares something. Creators cannot see your answers to their questions.
Community content. Small Wins and feature wishes are anonymous: we do not show a name or profile with them. We review every submission before others can see it. Do not include names, places, contact details, health details about yourself or others, or anything that could identify someone.
Share links. Anyone with the link can open a happiness package. You decide who receives it. In some countries, messages in share packages can only be chosen from pre-written texts. Only share content you have the right to share.
Licence. When you enter or share content, you give us only the rights needed to store, process and display it as the feature intends. These rights end when you delete the content, subject to short technical backups and legal obligations.
You may not post or share content that:
Report. Every Small Win, feature wish, share page, creator impulse and creator profile has a Report option. You can also email info@lioverse.de with the location or content ID, the reason, and your contact details (optional for share pages).
What we do. We review reports carefully, objectively and without undue delay. We may remove content, restrict its visibility, refuse publication, or suspend or close accounts. In cases of danger or serious misuse, we act immediately. Reports about self-harm are prioritised.
Appeal. If we remove your content, restrict your account, or decide on your report in a way you disagree with, you can appeal in the App or by email. A different person reviews your appeal. We tell you the outcome and the reasons.
We do not monitor all content in general. Our legal responsibility for third-party content after we learn of it is unaffected.
Registration and approval. Creators register in the Creator Dashboard and confirm that they are 18 or older and accept these Terms and the Creator Terms and Content Guidelines. We review every creator profile manually; there is no right to approval or continued participation. We review each piece of content before it is published. A creator may publish directly only if we have expressly confirmed this for their account.
Content Guidelines. Creators must follow section 7. In particular, creators must not claim that content treats, cures, reduces or prevents anxiety, depression, burnout or any other condition, “regulates the nervous system” or has similar physiological effects, is “clinically proven” unless we have approved the specific claim in writing, or detects or predicts mental health problems or crises. Advertising and sponsorships must be clearly labelled.
Rights. Creators keep their rights. They grant us a simple, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, copy, technically convert and deliver their content, to publish it in the App, on the Creator Dashboard, the website and related feeds, and to use it to promote the App, the creator profile or the category on our websites, app store pages and social media channels.
The licence ends when the content is deleted or the creator account ends; we then remove the content from active delivery without undue delay. Backups may remain for up to 30 days. For content already used in happiness packages, collections or our own promotional material, the licence continues to that extent.
Moderation. We may refuse, restrict or remove creator content, or suspend creators, for legal, safety, user-protection or quality reasons. Section 7 (appeal) applies.
Indemnity. If a creator culpably infringes third-party rights or these Terms, the creator indemnifies us against resulting justified claims and reasonable legal defence costs. This does not apply if the creator is not responsible for the infringement.
One-time purchase, no subscription. Early Access Premium is a one-time in-app purchase. It is available in the countries shown in the Apple App Store or Google Play checkout. The final price, currency and any applicable taxes are shown before you buy.
What “Lifetime” means. “Lifetime” means for as long as we, or a successor, operate the App. It does not mean the lifetime of the buyer and is not a guarantee that the App will run forever. If the App is permanently discontinued, technical access ends. A change of operator alone does not end access if the App continues. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Current scope. Premium currently includes Futuremail, Hidden Happiness and content or categories marked as Premium in the App. We may change Premium for valid reasons such as security, legal requirements, technical development or changes in how features are used. Changes never cost extra. If a change affects your access more than slightly, we inform you in good time.
Store, RevenueCat and refunds. Payment, receipt and refunds run through Apple or Google. We provide the Premium features. RevenueCat does not process payments; it only verifies purchases. To request a refund, use the store (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google: your Google Play order history). This does not limit any rights you have against us under the law. If Premium is faulty, you can also contact us directly at info@lioverse.de.
Restore. You can restore Premium on a new device with Restore purchases while signed in with the same store account.
Consumer rights by country.
Premium gifts. You can buy Early Access Premium for someone else in the App. This is a one-time in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play and requires an account. The price is shown before you buy. The rules on store payment, refunds and consumer rights in this section apply to the purchase. We may stop selling gifts; paid gifts stay redeemable.
Code and delivery. After the purchase you receive a code and a link. Anyone who knows the code can redeem it, so only pass it to the person you intend. You can pass it on yourself or have us email it, right away or at a time you choose. Only enter an email address if you can assume that the person agrees.
Sender name and message. Until the gift is redeemed, you can add an optional sender name and one of our pre-written messages. Section 7 applies to the name. We review it before an email with that name goes out and may send the email without the name.
Redeeming. The recipient needs an account to redeem a gift. Each code can be redeemed once and unlocks Early Access Premium, with the meaning of “Lifetime” and the scope described in this section, for that account. Someone who already has Premium cannot redeem the code; it then stays open and can be passed on. You cannot redeem your own gift; in exceptional cases our support can help at info@lioverse.de.
Validity. A code never expires. It stays redeemable for as long as we, or a successor, operate the App.
Refunds and account deletion. If the purchase is refunded, we disable a code that has not been redeemed and no longer send a scheduled email. A gift already redeemed stays in place. If you delete your account, an open code stays redeemable and a scheduled email is still sent.
You may not use the App unlawfully, bypass security measures, disrupt our systems, read data without authorisation, spread malware, impersonate others or scrape content automatically. Rights in the App, design, trademarks and editorial content remain with us or the respective rights holders.
We aim for secure and stable operation but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. We provide the updates needed to keep paid digital content in conformity, as required by law.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Privacy & data › Delete account. Instructions are on our privacy requests page. Creators can close their creator account in the Creator Dashboard.
We may suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches. Usually we warn first and give a reasonable chance to fix the problem. In cases of danger, serious misuse, legal obligation or where continuation is unreasonable, we may act immediately. Section 7 (appeal) applies.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent and gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, guarantees we gave, and product liability.
For slight negligence, we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations and only for typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise we are not liable for slight negligence. This section applies only to the extent permitted by the consumer protection law of your country, state or province.
Users and creators are responsible for their own content.
Governing law. German law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country, state or province where you live.
Courts. You can bring claims in the courts of your place of residence or in Germany. We do not use arbitration clauses or class-action waivers.
Severability. If a provision is invalid, the rest of the Terms remain valid.
Language. These Terms are available in German, English and French. If you use the App in the EU, the German version governs. If you use the App in the USA, the UK or Canada outside Québec, the English version governs. If you live in Québec, the French version governs.
Changes. We may change these Terms for valid reasons, such as new features, legal changes or security requirements. We inform you of material changes in good time in the App or by email. Where your consent is legally required, we ask for it expressly; silence or continued use does not count as consent in that case.
Contact. Questions, complaints and reports: info@lioverse.de.
